__The week of 11/13 to 11/17__

About the week: This week the students will learn how to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators. Wednesday, the students will create their own study guide by writing and solving sample problems from a class copy. Thursday, the students will take the fractions quiz.

__The week of 11/6 to 11/10__

About the week: This week the students will learn how to find the GCF and LCM for a given set of numbers. The students will also learn to rewrite fractions using division. No quiz this week.

__The week of 10/30- 11/2__

About the week: This week the students will learn how to solve math problems using Order of Operations. The students will also learn how to write numerical math expressions from word problems. In addition the students will identify patterns from given scenarios. On Thursday, the students will create their own study guide by copying practice questions from a class copy. After the students have written and solved each problem, we will review the answers in class. Numerical Expressions Quiz will be on Friday.

__The week of 10/23-10/27__

About the week: This week the students will learn how to divide with decimals. The students will create their own study guide in class on Thursday, by copying the problems from a class copy. All answers will be reviewed in class on Thursday in order for the students to study at home Thursday evening. The Decimals quiz will be Friday.

__The week of 10-16-10/20__

About the week: This week the students will continue to learn to add and subtract with decimals. The students will also learn how to use addition properties to solve problems with decimal operations. The students will have a quiz on Wednesday to assess their knowledge of adding and subtracting with decimals. A make-up for the Division quiz will also be offered on Wednesday. The remainder of the week the students will learn how to multiply with decimals.

__The week of 10/9-10/13__

About the week: This week the students will finalize the Math PBL, in class. The Unit I Test will be on Tuesday and the Math PBL presentations will be in class on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday the students will learn how to add and subtract decimals.

__The week of 10/2- 10/6__

About the week: Now that we have finished Unit I, the students are ready to begin working on their math PBL word problems. The students will also write a copy of the Unit I study guide in their math notebook in order to study for the Unit I test, scheduled for Tuesday, October 12th

__The week of 9/25-9/29__

About the week: This week the students will continue dividing with multi-digits using long-division and multi-digit divisors. The students will copy their study guide in their notebooks on Thursday in order to study for their quiz, which will be on Friday.

About the week: This week the students will learn how to multiply with multi-digits. The students will also learn how to divide using partial quotients and long division.

About the week: This week the students will complete the Exponents and Partial Products quiz on Friday.

About the week: This week the students will learn how to solve and write problems using exponents. The students will also learn how to solve multiplication problems using multiplication patterns and powers of 10.

__The week of 8/28- 9/1__

About the week: This week the students will learn how to write decimals in expanded form. The students will also review how to round whole numbers, then will learn how to round decimals. We will review all place value lessons in order for the students to create their own study guide. The students will have a test on Friday. The test will include the following lessons: Compare and order numbers, Writing numbers in standard form, word form, and expanded form, Fraction models, and Rounding.

The week of 8/21- 8/25

About the week: This week the students will learn how to compare and order numbers. The students will also learn how to create and use fraction models. The students will be given a new weekly sheet on Monday. Weekly sheets are always glued into the notebook and are due the following Monday. This gives the student a week to complete a 4 day review sheet. Every Monday, we review the answers to the weekly sheet given the week prior. Every Tuesday, the students will have a 10 question assessment on the weekly sheet (open notes). Most Fridays the students will have an assessment about the lesson taught during the week.
